Michelle Bardsley, a conservative Republican, will fight to preserve our values, protect our citizens, and provide opportunities for a brighter future for NC families, businesses, and communities. Michelle is equipped to serve the Guilford County Community with her experience in education, business, leadership, community service, and raising a family.
Michelle Bardsley is an active education leader and teacher with over 16 years of service in K-12 public education. She is an Instructional Coach at a K-8 charter school and served 13 years as a high school Career and Technical Education (CTE) Business Management, Finance-Accounting, Marketing, & Microsoft lead teacher. Michelle is a first-generation college graduate, who earned Kaufman Honors with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Finance from Old Dominion University. She knows that education is the key to life and career success, and upward mobility. Michelle is an avid supporter of workforce development CTE programs in our middle and high schools that transfer into opportunities in the trades, professional fields, and armed forces.
Prior to becoming an educator, Michelle worked in the private industry for 13 years as a Financial Analyst, Accounting Department Supervisor, Business Analyst, and IT Project Leader. Michelle served on business development teams in a national IT firm, creating customer software solutions and meeting profit margin expectations. She advanced from a financial analyst to an Accounting Department supervisor, then transitioned to become Business Analyst and IT project leader. She served on RFP bid teams for new business that led to significant increases in corporate revenues.
Leadership with Teachers and Students:
Michelle Bardsley developed her leadership and a strong work ethic being the oldest of four children and working in her entrepreneurial mother and grandmother’s family-owned businesses during her teen and college years. Her foundational leadership skills and career experiences led her to serve on NC DPI curriculum writing teams with teachers and national education leaders to improve instructional strategies that increased student achievement. Michelle is a Marketing course lead with NCVPS and presents annually at the NC CTE conference. For over a decade she has championed many student initiatives such as Future Business Leaders of America and DECA clubs to develop business and leadership skills in students, making sure they are ready for the workforce.

Michelle is an active member of the Rotary International and her church music worship team. Michelle works to educate our community in the pro-life movement, protecting the unborn, including participation in the annual Walk for Life in Greensboro, NC with the Pregnancy Network.
In her earlier years, she served as a scout leader, soccer and cheer coach, and Community Bible Study (CBS) Director. Michelle's foundational Christian conservative principles come from her entrepreneur and military family upbringing.
Michelle and her husband of 31 years have four adult children, all Guilford County Schools graduates, and four grandchildren. The family unit has always been a priority to Michelle growing up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and with family heritage in North Carolina. She is the stepdaughter of a retired Navy Seal Commanding Officer, daughter of a civil service electrician father, and granddaughter of a Navy Sea Bee who survived the WWII Attack on Pearl Harbor while stationed on the USS California ship.
Michelle knows how important family is as the foundation of a healthy and growing community. She is committed to working smart and with common sense to provide the best economic opportunities, education, public safety, housing, and healthcare for NC families, businesses, and the community.
